Eggs are perfect for meals or snacks anytime as they really satisfy hunger and provide high quality protein. We love eggs in our house, and having boiled eggs in the fridge makes for a super quick snack when you only have 1 minute to grab something. As you might remember, I have been working with Burnbrae Farms for the past year as an Ambassador and I have been creating recipes each month using the goodness of Burnbrae Farms Eggs. This month, we were challenged to come up with an ‘egg buddy’, so I began to think how some cute and creative Monster Egg Buddies for a breakfast or snack would be really for fun with Halloween coming up. I love creating cute and creative snacks like this these snacks here, here and here. So I got to work cutting up some veggies and started playing with boiled eggs to create some cute little monsters. I really love how cute and healthy they are and I think any kid would be thrilled to find one of these in their lunch box or for an after school snack.
The beauty of this cute breakfast or snack idea is that you can create them quickly and easily by using Burnbrae Farms 2- pack of Omega 3 eggs. The eliminates the task of boiling and peeling eggs.
I also created these with the help of some purchased candy eyes, but olives or cut grapes would work just as well if you prefer. And any sticky food will work as ‘glue’ to keep the pieces on the eggs. Just wipe eggs completely dry {they should also be room temperature or cold, but not warm or hot} and you could use mayo, peanut butter, almond butter, cream cheese, honey or maple syrup to keep the pieces on the eggs. You are only limited by your imagination for what you can do to create these monsters. Cut up vegetables such as red pepper, carrots, celery, or herbs can be used to create so many fun monsters. And here’s a tip: cut a little egg off of the bottom so that the egg buddy will sit flat and not roll around.
Things like stick arms can be directly pushed into the yolk of the egg. You can see here that peanut butter is used as the ‘glue’ to hold the hair, eyes and mouth on this egg buddy. This egg buddy has pieces of red pepper for hair and a candy eye.Pieces of cilantro are used for the hair, along with a red pepper mouth and carrots for arms make this egg buddy monster. This little guy has carrot pieces for hair and celery sticks for arms, along with red pepper for a mouth.
Creating some egg buddy monsters would also be a great activity for kids as they could create their own fun snack!
Here are some other great meal or snack choices made using the convenience of Burnbrae Farms boiled egg 2 packs.

I like quiche and recently started making it myself instead of buying them. I thought it would be difficult but with the frozen pie shells, it’s really easy.

These are adorable! I’d tried decorating hard boiled eggs before but they never turned out well. Your advice about wiping them dry must be the trick. Gonna give this a try now. Thanks!
