Christmas House Tour 2014 & Tour of Homes

Well hello there! I am so excited to share with you this year’s Christmas House Tour! I have also teamed up with a whole group of bloggers to bring you lots of fabulous homes for you to see that are decorated for the season. You can find the links to those tours at the bottom of this post!

I always love this time of year when I get to peek inside the home’s of bloggers that I love and see wonderful ideas and inspiration for the season. Last year, I shared this Christmas House Tour with you and my front porch decorating. This year, I love the trend towards mixed metals, so I made that my decorating scheme, along with fresh greenery that smells so amazing. I love beautiful colours and textures way too much to decorate the same way year after year. I adore the challenge of mixing it up!

I decided on a bit of a garden theme with mixed metals for the dining table. An Ikea CD box was recycled into a small garden paper with whites,plants, bulbs and a few shiny ornaments mixed in.

The greenery adds a lovely touch to enjoy during the gray days of winter.

Each place setting was given a peat pot with a bulb as a take home treat.

The Christmas tree, which I shared with you HERE, features beautiful ornaments in mixed metals from the new Canvas Collection from Canadian Tire.

And I love the simplicity of adding Christmas balls and greenery in bowls.

A little decor for our wine cabinet.

I pulled out some red pillows for the season and added a few new ones as well.

I couldn’t’ resist some of the fabulous pillows at Chapters.

And obviously, this is the girls’ happy place!

And I love all my white dishes and trays pulled out for Christmas decor in the kitchen.

Remember how I said that I adore beautiful colours and textures too much to limit myself?

Yes. Well, I completely shifted to a new look for our bedroom on the second floor.

For the first time ever, I added a Christmas tree to our bedroom. I picked up this artificial tree for a mere $12 at a Boxing Day sale a few years ago,but have never used it. Until this year!

I am really loving having a tree in the bedroom . I often work {as I am writing this post now} in the bedroom where it’s quiet and this is such a pretty vignette to look at while I type away.

I will be sharing more of this tree in a post next week,but I just wanted to give you a sneak peek!

Everything looks lovely. I'm glad you could accommodate both the rustic metal tones and the brighter jewel colours in your home. I'm always torn between different looks too.
