Last night my teenage daughter had a few friends over.
The plan was for them to stay for dinner and then they were doing the funnest thing that girls do…hair & makeup.
I decided to make a spaghetti dinner for them since it is a meal that most people like.
Homemade spaghetti sauce, caesar salad and garlic bread.
While I was in the grocery, some sunflowers caught my attention.
So I grabbed a bunch and went home to make a pretty table.
I really wished I had a vintage tin to use as a vase.
But since I didn’t, I used what I had….just a regular tomato tin for the sunflowers.
{I have always loved that look.}
And some red & white dish cloths for a table runner.
It was a great little dinner party…..and the girls even noticed the sunflowers!
And it satisfied my urge to make something pretty…I love to make some pretty!

Angie, I love this table. Quick, easy and the sunflowers are so bright and pretty! Happy Fall!
Love the idea of the tomato can as a vase. I'll have to try that!
Sounds like you had a perfect dinner party : )
Perfect table for your daughers "girls night in". Love the sunflowers in the red can – the colors play well off each other. Hope the girls had a blast doing each others hair & make up!
So cute Angie! I love seeing the beauty in found objects. Your sunflowers and 'table runner' look very pretty.
I love sunflowers! Think I'll have to grab some for my kitchen table. 🙂

Oo–what beautiful sunflowers! And what a sweet momma to doll up things for her daughter and friends–I bet they loved it! =)
Sunflowers always make a table special. When those dear girls grow up, you'll have had a hand in encouraging them to set a lovely table, too. Thanks! Cherry Kay
LOVE the sunflowers, the red and the idea of putting them in the tomato can – I wouldn't have thought of that! Thanks for sharing. I must get back to my tablescaping – 🙂 I don't know where my time goes!
Blessings,
Ava
All the year through, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE red! The dishcloths-turned-table runner is really sweet, and the fresh flowers are perfect!.. Hope everybody enjoyed their spaghetti dinner! ~tina
Very cute table! I love the tomato can vase and your whole tablescape is perfect for a casual dinner for friends. Very special for your daughter and her pals.
What a cute simple table. I love the red and white napkins. Perfect for spaghetti.
Think of it this way, Angie: Some day someone will be rooting around on the Internet (or its space age equivalent!) and find your post, and the tomato can WILL be vintage! 🙂 Very cute table for young girls to enjoy! I'm sure they appreciated the effort and thought you put into it, even if they couldn't stop talking about Joe Jonas or Justin Bieber or whoever is hot right now to say so!
