This is a project that I have been working on for a few months.
I ‘ve been collecting my children’s art from closets and Rubbermaid totes in the hopes of creating an ‘art gallery’ in our lower level family room.
I have been gathering up any frame not is use from around the house and snapping up any frames I could find on sale for $7.00 or less.
The images below are but a few that have inspired me to create this project.
I love the eclectic look of the different frames, mismatched frame colours, textures and variety of pictures.
I think it adds wonderful personality.
I chose my children’s art because I am all about ‘living with what you love’.
My children have created some really fabulous pieces of art at school over
the course of their elementary school years.
Two of these creations were created by my son and daughter as far back as 2003
when my son was only 2 years old and did a colourful picture (scribble) for Mommy.
I could not purchase anything that I would love half as much as these creations.
I am really pleased with how this wall turned out.
It adds some much-needed fun & personality to the room.
In the right corner, you can see the handle of the tread mill…just keeping it real here. This room is totally multi-functional with a TV, sofas, games table, & tread mill along with my newly created ‘art gallery’.
The good new is that I only managed to break two of the glass inserts while I was hanging everything.
One frame bit the dust when I stepped on it.
Another fell off the wall and smashed while I was hammering a nail for another.
Ooopsie!Thank you so much for visiting me!ps-Feel free to check out some of my boards on Pinterest:

I'm all about color and showcasing your kids creativeness in this way is a top shelf thing for a mom to do. I think it turned out every bit as well as the pics that inspired you.

This is something I definitely want to do when I have kids. Sometimes art groupings don't have much meaning, but are pretty nonetheless. This one you created has tons of meaning and I'm sure puts a smile on everyone's face that walks by. Plus – it's gorgeous with all the colors and incredibly fun to look at!
Thanks for sharing!

Love, Love, Love this. You get my heart on this, Decorate with what you love and what could a mom love more than her kids art work. I am working on a wall like this in my bedroom but I am far off from having it ready but you have inspired me to push harder to get it done. Thank you for linking up with Sentimental Sunday today and for the inspiration, hope you link up next week.

This is so fantastic…I can't tell you how it warmed my heart. Of course, if I tried to hang my kids' art you'd be staring at that wall of quickly scratched out pencil sketches and wondering, "What was that lady thinking when she actually spent good money on frames for these messes?" LOL! Lisa~

I just found your blog and have been enjoying your posts. This one caught my attention because I just finished up my degree to become an art teacher. After working with a bunch of kids and telling them they should be proud of their work and hang it up at home, only to find out that many of them have parents that throw things away, it is nice to see that some parents out there don't do that! I look forward to when my daughter is old enough to create art on her own. She's at the scribble age (18 months) and although I love it, I look forward to the days that there might be objects in her artwork and she can tell me about it. I have been wanting to make an art wall in my house but just can't think of where… now I have some inspiration and see if I can find one in time for her to have a spot some day!

I love, LOVE this! I have saved our kids artwork for the last few years and told them this was exactly what I wanted to do. I thought I needed to have all the same frames {so I was waiting till I had the money} but…I love this idea. Yay! I will start a whatever-works frame-search now.

I love the mix of frames and handmade art. I have the perfect large wall for this right between the doors to the kid's rooms! I was thinking of having a chore chart on that wall, and surrounding the chore chart with their artwork would be perfect!
