Valentine’s Day Brunch was a tradition that my late Aunt Janet liked to host every year for her girlfriends.
And although she passed away at the young age of 48 over 10 years ago, I think of her and honour her with a Valentine’s brunch of my own.
The menu is simple…waffles with strawberries & whipped cream and bacon with a few little treats.
I make it for my own little family each year because it’s nice to have a something special to look forward to in the middle of winter.
This year, I used shades of pink & red to make the table shine.
Fresh flowers and plants are so cheerful to have in winter!
Little mini-cupcakes & Hershey’s kisses from the store are great no-fuss treats to share.
And the heart napkin holders I made for Valentine’s Day last year work perfectly with the dishes I picked up at my local grocery store a few years ago.
I shared a how-to & free printable for making these darling little straw flags earlier in the week.. you can find the tutorial and printable here.
When brunch is done for this year, I plan to give these sweet-smelling plants to a few of my girlfriends just because.
I love making my family feel special for Valentine’s Day.

Oh my gosh – this is all so beautiful! I can only imagine my husband's reaction if he found this beautiful set up in our kitchen. Thanks for linking up to Family Fun Friday!
What a gorgeous tablescape. I love the primroses mixed with the tulips. Signs of spring during a wint'ry holiday celebration!
IT's all so pretty. It's just a pity Edmonton is so far from Toronto as I would want details on when you were holding your brunch so I could show up 😉
I forgot to say that I love how you put the checkered placemats/serviettes off-centre like that. I've never thought of doing that, but it gives a whole other look to the table.
I just went and voted for your chocolate cream soup. It looks delish. Can you vote more than once?
What a beautiful table! Janet would be so proud of you. I miss her also. I remember one of those brunches and the fresh pancakes and blueberry sauce.
Your table is so pretty and cheerful and bright Angie. What a shame your aunt died so young. Nice that you are honouring her memory each Valentine's Day. 🙂
Absolutely beautiful! A friend of mine has a special family breakfast every Valentine's Day and I love that tradition.
Brilliant, pretty and entirely within reach of most people. You are one clever cookie. 🙂
What a fabulous idea and it looks amazing Angie! so fresh! Thanks for sharing at Monday Funday!
Wow, this makes me really wish i had a valentine's to impress but sadly not! I think the table looks absolutely gorgeous though and I love the napkin holders especialy.
This is so cute! I want to come and join your brunch! Don't you love making a festive table for the holidays? Thanks for the great inspiration! Have a wonderful day!
gosh.. everything is so bright and beautiful!!! What a sweet tribute.
You make everything so special and festive, you make me wish I was your kid, just so I could experience all of it.
I don't do anything special for breakfast, but I do make a really nice dinner for my husband and myself. I have Shrimp in Love on the menu this year.
Have a good week!
Hugs, cindy
