Have you noticed those cute straw or cupcake flags?
Have you wanted to try them but don’t know where to begin? I am going to show you how easy it is and share a FREE printable so you can make some adorable straw flags for Valentine’s Day!
Step 1. Print out the free printable sheet of Valentine’s Flags you can find here:
Step 2. Score the straw flags down the center with a scoring tool {a ruler and blunt side of a butter knife will also work.} This will give you a crisp folding line for the flags.
{The scoring mark for a 8.5 x 11 sheet will be 4.25 inches from each side, but please measure to be sure!}
Step 3. Fold the straw flag sheet in half as shown.
Step 4. Trim the folded sheet of flags to desired width and length with a paper trimmer or scissors. If the flags are to be used on toothpicks for cupcakes, the flags should be small. For drinking straws, the flags will be trimmed to a larger size.
Step 5. Using small scissors, trim ends of flags into a V as shown. {I usually just eyeball it to trim.}
Step 6. Open up the flags with the print side facing down. Use a glue stick to apply glue to the entire strip and then wrap the glue side around the straws as shown.

Step 7. Place the pretty straws in a mason jar and stand back & admire the amazing job you did!
I made some of these straws for our house….just because they are pretty!
And the flags are also perfect for PENCILS too!
