The caring and keeping of home is a never ending job.
But it’s a job I love…..and I hope everyone who enters our home feels it’s warmth.
I do have a few home goals for 2011 and they are:
1. To keep it looking fresh and pretty.
2. To put frames around these ugly standard issue builders bathroom mirrors.
3. To pretty up this mudroom closet by freshening the back wall which has seen too many shoe and boot marks.
I am thinking paint or wallpaper.
It would be nice to use paint I already have…along with a graphic stencil.
4. How about this hideous-looking pantry? She sure could use a ‘Stacey & Clinton’ makeover.
5. I sure would like to purdy up this little dog feeding station.
I have a few ideas.
6. The stairs to the basement family room. Super yuck. Super ugly. Get that paint brush out right now!
I think I plan to tackle those stairs first. I started them months ago by painting the risers and sides white.
Embarassingly, they have been left in this state far too long.
Now you know all my secrets.

Painting stairs is a pain in the butt! But the end result will be worth it. I love the first photo. What a pretty vignette.
i have alot of the same projects planned this year! i already did my coat closet, but i still need to do my pantry & paint the stairs to my basement. i can't wait to see your finished products – good luck!

I had those mirrors in our last home…the builders special! That's a great idea building a frame around them.
I can see why you never finished painting the stairs…its alot of work!! Besides who sees it but us.

Those are great goals for 2011 – I'm looking forward to seeing you implement them. I especially like the vignettes you do on your shelves and tables – they definitely make your home cozy and pretty.
Funny how some projects just get left behind! I am nearing the end of a complete home reno. Can hardly wait to clean and get all my furniture back upstairs. Good luck with your 2011 goals.
You have great goals for 2011. We also have a few projects that need to be done or finished. He has the new basement door finally done. Now to get some new light fixtures up, they have only been sitting in the room for a year! Good luck on your projects, can't wait to see the finish.
My pantry looked good for the first month we lived here…time to reorganize. My cousin has a bottom drawer in her kitchen that she just pulls out with the dog bowls inside (sides of the drawer are cut down so they can reach the food). So tidy.

Break it down into a task a month or a week. Before you know it you'll be amazed at what you've accomplished! Remember, I am speaking to the lady who already has her Christmas 2011 planned! I beleive in you!
