Is there anything better than homemade cookies? Soft and tender, or buttery and crispy…no matter what kind of cookie..they taste delicious especially when warm and fresh right of the oven. One of my favourite ways to experiment with cookies is to take a favourite recipe and put a fresh new twist on it. I have been making these thumbprint cookies for years, but I usually add strawberry jam or grape jelly to them. This time, I spiced them up with the sweet & bold flavour of Patak’s Sweet Mango Chutney. Chutneys aren’t just great accompaniments to meat, fish or vegetables, but make a great addition to baked goods too.
This is an easy recipe that uses just basic ingredients and once the thumbprint in the dough, you can add any flavour you like!
Patak’s Mango Chutneys are a special blend of fruits cooked in sugar and spices, and range from mild to hot. I have used Patak’s mango chutney to jazz up other desserts in the past and it lends a wonderful flavour to boost the flavours of cakes, cookies and fruit.
