Hello there! I am so thrilled to join together with a group of bloggers to bring you collection of fantastic tips, ideas and recipes for Camping Season 2014! Camping each summer is a right of passage for my family. It can’t be summer unless we have a few weekends of camping…that is just the rule ’round here! I am so excited to share how we create and organize an outdoor camping kitchen or our ‘glamping’ kitchen…which is a super cool name that makes a rustic experience sound all the more fun! I love cooking and preparing meals outside when the weather is warm and sunny!
Let me tell you how everything works together.
- plastic bowls, plates and cups
- dish cloths and dish towels
- saran wrap, aluminum foil, plastic bags, garbage bags
- a box of baking soda in case of a grease fire
- kitchen utensils, hamburger press and a grill basket
- stainless steel travel cups
- stainless steel bowl for salads, etc.
- toaster for campfire, grill or gas burner
- paper towel, extra napkins, matches, BBQ lighter.
For instance, this little plastic box nicely holds cooking oil and spices.

What an amazing kitchen- wow, that would make setting up the campsite so wonderful! We don't own one (obviously), but these tips are helpful all around- I like how each meals items are packed in their own bag!

I'm a little jealous of your camp kitchen. We are very basic campers – we tent and half of the time don't even bring our two burner stove with us. While I enjoy it, it'd be nice to have more luxury.

Where did you find your condiment caddy?
I too am a fellow Albertan!

I love your Glamping Kitchen. My Mom is a glamper and was before anyone else thought of it. She always brought cutlery and candles for dinner. I don't think she has ever had an evening meal without candles.
What did you use to create the tables that connect together and the big bar for hanging things on?

Where'd you get your condiment carousel and dish & cutlery caddy? Were they expensive?

Hi, Angie. Thanks for sharing all your great recipes and tips. I am going to put them to good use this week! Just a quick tip from me. I have a camping kitchen like you that I got from Cabelas. One thing I do is "thread" a roll of paper towels through one of the upright bars when I am putting the kitchen together–makes a great holder. I also found a string of battery-operated L.E.D. lights that look like tiny camping lanterns that I string up on top of the kitchen and it provides a great light source at night. It is bright, so I only use it when cooking or cleaning up. Your solar-powered light is a great idea for softer light. FYI for other people asking: If you have a Costco in your area, they often have those great plate/utensil caddies this time of year. Also dollar stores may have smaller versions for utensils only. Target, Walmart, etc. are other sources to check out. Thanks again!

Haven't gone camping in years, but if I can convince the family to try it again, I'm am entirely demanding that we get one of these kitchens for the trip, LOL. That is SO cool! And so much better than re-purposing the picnic table. 😀

just started camping as an adult (camped a lot as a kid).
One great idea I came up with is for storage in a tent. But one of those plastic storage drawer systems. Three or four drawers tall. Keep flashlights, batteries, toiletries, first aid kit, etc in the drawers, but placing it next to your air mattress it doubles as a nightstand too!

I’d love to know where you purchased everything. It would make a great addition to this post! Are you doing anything different for this summer? We started camping last summer with our four kids, and I can use any tips I can get! We tent, as we can’t afford to buy a camper. As you can imagine, it’s tough to fit everything in our van!
