We love seafood as part of our Christmas celebrations, and we often traditionally have lobster rolls for Christmas Eve dinner. However, another favourite of ours is this Crab & Cheese Dip!
It is so creamy and perfect for dipping veggies and crackers.
And if you serve it with rice crackers, it is a completely gluten-free appetizer as well!

I know there are many families who have their own recipe for this dip and there are different versions with slightly varying ingredients. However, after tasting a few versions, this is our favourite recipe to make…we love the smokiness of the added paprika!
Crab & Cheese Dip
{serves 6-8 people}
Ingredients:
1 brick Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 cup whipped salad dressing like Miracle Whip
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 teaspoon paprika
4-5 green onions, sliced
2 cans crab meat {120 g cans)
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350.
2. Mix together cream cheese, salad dressing, Swiss cheese, paprika, green onion and crab meat.
3. Spread in bottom of large oven proof casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray. Garnish with a little green onion, cheese or parsley.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until dip is hot & bubbly.
5. Serve with vegetable crudites and crackers as desired.

That sounds delish – might have to try as I have a couple of seafood lovers here. Our go-to this year is a cream cheese with smoky raspberry chipotle sauce poured over. But I am going to set out several apetizers for snacking!

That looks delicious, Angie! I make a crab dip that my family loves. Unfortunately, I can't eat it anymore because the recipe calls for breadcrumbs.

So simple and yummy sounding! I'm always looking for ways to use canned crab. Do you know if I could use mayo instead of whipped?
